Meet Ashley Collins.
Hey, My name is Ashley Collins and I am 17 years old. I am a rising senior at Trinity High School, and I am a summer camps intern at The Adler Planetarium. This summer I worked with my supervisor Lauren and three other interns on preparing materials for the summer camps and l cut up foil, made rocket bodies, and nose cones. I bonded with all of the campers this summer, and I got a chance to facilitate a lesson on comets which was really amazing. The campers were amazing and they loved the comet lesson especially when they got to create their own. Overall, my summer was great here at the Adler Planetarium and I really learned how to work as a team and work on my leadership skills. I was really challenged this summer and I love being challenged. I was able to work with two other interns on a project which facilitate at a maker faire on the southside of Chicago at the Ford City Mall. My group and I really focused on light and so as a group we wanted people to create their own lanterns and we had three options for people to choose from. Overall, that turned out great!! And everything went as planned.
